Cedarcreek kennels is a small kennel based in the North East of England and we have been involved with Malamutes for over a decade. At the moment we have nine Malamutes: Storm, Wanda, Dakota, Tonka, Gambit, PJ, Chuck, Dallas and Nemo. All our dogs are first and foremost much loved family pets.
We saw our first Mal in 1996 and knew then that they were the breed for us. After some research and visiting several breeders we were put on a waiting list and 12 months down the line we got our first Malamute, Storm. After a chance visit to a working rally we decided to get our second Mal and the rest is history.
Most of our dogs are or have been exhibited at Champ Show level for conformation of the breed standard, and all our dogs are worked in harness either recreationally or competitively.
Both of us have attended the Alaskan Malamute Club Of The United Kingdom breed seminars, and I have attended Alaskan Malamute Club of America’s Judges breed study group. I have also been privileged to judge this magnificent breed.
We are members of the Alaskan Malamute Club of the United Kingdom and abide by the club code of ethics including hip scoring and eye testing. We are also members of the Alaskan Malamute Working Association, the Sled Dog Association of Scotland and the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain.
We are always here for help and advice even if it’s just something trivial, so don’t be afraid to pick up the phone to talk to us. We also look after other people's Mals when the owners take a break, and help out with Alaskan Malamute rescue any way we can including fostering.
